Hubbards.AI provides a semantic search and reasoning interface to the body of work of L. Ron Hubbard — lectures, Hubbard Communications Office Bulletins (HCOBs), Policy Letters (HCO PLs), books and congresses. Every answer is grounded in verbatim source passages with full citations.
The system indexes the documented original canon — not the versions rewritten by the Church of Scientology after 1972.
We hold that the original L. Ron Hubbard works indexed here are in the public domain under applicable law:
1. Dissolution of HASI (1977). The original copyright holder — the Hubbard Association of Scientologists International, to which L. Ron Hubbard had transferred all rights — was dissolved by court order in 1977, with no legal successor. Orphan works without a valid successor pass into the public domain.
2. Pre-1978 U.S. copyright law. All genuine LRH works were published before the 1978 revision of U.S. copyright law. The original copyrights from that era have either expired or were not properly renewed under the amended requirements.
3. Disputed 1986 transfer. The transfer of copyrights claimed after L. Ron Hubbard's death in 1986 is legally contested, based on documents whose authenticity is disputed.
4. Original vs. revised versions. Today's Scientology organization has revised the texts since 1972 (most recently in 2007) — passages removed, material added, new covers. It claims copyright in those modified versions. Hubbards.AI indexes exclusively the original, unmodified works published during L. Ron Hubbard's lifetime.
We are aware that the following organisations claim copyrights:
Based on the legal analysis above, we cannot agree to those claims. The original L. Ron Hubbard works indexed by Hubbards.AI are definitively in the public domain — and we are prepared to defend that position with documented evidence in any competent court that chooses to examine it.

We do not recognise third-party take-down procedures (e.g. DMCA) as a legitimate substitute for judicial review. All copyright disputes must be brought before Swiss courts under full judicial scrutiny.
If you represent an organisation claiming copyrights and can provide:
… then please contact us through the in-app contact form at app.hubbards.ai. We welcome substantive legal dialogue. We do not respond to DMCA-style intimidation sent to hosting providers.
For works subject to legitimate copyright (e.g. our own books or works by other authors), we follow proper copyright procedures.
If you believe content on this site infringes your legitimate copyright, send us a detailed notice through the contact form including your contact details, identification of the work, and the specific claim. We will review promptly.
Fraudulent DMCA claims for works that do not belong to you constitute perjury under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f) and may carry legal consequences for the filer.
